Language I/O and Women in Localization Speak at XTM Live
September 17, 2018
“We’ve always supported Women in Localization and couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to share the stage with them,” Kvaavik said. “As the localization industry continues growing, it’s important for women working within it to develop strong professional connections. Heather Morgan Shoemaker, Language I/O’s other co-founder, and I have developed invaluable relationships through Women in Localization.”
The mission of Women in Localization is to “foster a global community for the advancement of women in the localization industry.” Since its founding in 2008, Women in Localization has more than 4,500 members and 16 chapters in 12 countries.
“It’s great to see that we’re having an impact, that many people are benefiting from an organization that promotes the mission of Women in Localization,” said Rachel Lord, chapter manager of Women in Localization North East. “Our goal with the XTM Live event is to share that with the audience, talk about our local chapters and tell our audience—men included—how they can get involved.”
XTM Live is a translation summit that follows the successful XTM Live 2017 and XTM Live Europe summits.
Kvaavik and Lord will present with Rachel Ferris, Boston events manager for Women in Localization North East.
